Scholarly Sources?
July 30th, 2007 Posted in Campus Life, TechnologyI have never been a huge fan of Wikipedia because I often question the quality of the contributors. I by no means think that knowledge and truths are absolute, but I also believe that factual data should have some level of consistency. I recently read that one of the co-founders of Wikipedia has now created a site called Citizendium, which limits contributions to academics and carefully reviewed general contributors. I think this is a great step in the right direction; I would still trust my local library (the University’s libraries) with their vast wealth of scholarly journals, books, and other resources (including human researchers who can help you) over an open, public encyclopedia.

Come give it a try.
And lots of librarians have expressed interest in the success of the project.
