Health care for kids? Hell no…
October 3rd, 2007 Posted in AnnoyancesBush vetoed a bill designed to help states provide health care for children, citing that it was too expensive and be too much like socialized medicine. God forbid everyone have access to quality health care… the horror! There was one line in the Time’s reporting of this situation that did make me laugh:
The White House sought as little attention as possible, with the president wielding his veto behind closed doors without any fanfare or news coverage.
Really? I would have thought he would have had every news station there and surrounded himself with kids suffering from cancer, AIDS, and other diseases. As he signed the veto, he could have knocked one of them out of their wheelchair just for effect.
I can’t wait until the Republicans are out of the White House.
