Flickr gallery problems… again
November 4th, 2007 Posted in Annoyances, TechnologySo, last week, I noticed that I was getting database errors and other random messages about my web server. I did some investigating and found out that I had used nearly 99% of my storage space. I couldn’t figure out how - my photos are stored remotely on Flickr and there is no way in hell my blog took up a gigabyte. I wrote to tech support and they discovered the Flickr Photo Album plugin’s cache was the culprit. The cache folder does not automatically empty, instead it ballooned to nearly one gig and was freezing up my Wordpress database. This sucks. I’ve had problems with this plugin in the past, so my beautiful themed gallery is going offline. Instead, you’ll have to view the photos directly from Flickr.

I’ve had all sorts of problems with that plugin too, but I haven’t been able to find a better one.
My blog is about due for an overhaul. I’ll probably upgrade to the newest wordpress and dump that plugin too.
