Parati, Brazil

Parati is a small colonial town known for it’s Golden Trail. During the 1700’s, there was extensive gold mining and this was one of the most important ports in Brazil. We wandered around the streets and small shops, visited Fort Defensor (a historic military base that protected the town during its gold rush era), and ate lunch at Brik a Brak, a local restaurant where we enjoyed a flavorful vegetarian dish (a rarity in Brazil).
