Itajai, Brazil

After a restful day at sea, we arrived in Itajai on Sunday. We spent two days at this major port. Itajai is a huge import/export spot for Brazil, evident by the numerous appliance and electronics stores that line the streets near the port. Many of the buildings and churches here have fun art deco architecture, including the main Catholic church (pictured above). Just like all the other cities, we are spending a significant amount of time at the beach. In fact, we took a beautiful (but long) 45 minute walk to one of the major beaches and enjoyed ice cream in the sun.
