Fair Lady? Try Fantastic Lady!

This weekend, we went to see My Fair Lady at the Paramount and it was fantastic! The sets and costumes were incredible and the singing was strong across the board. By far, the best moments of the musical were thanks to Tim Jerome’s brilliant portrayal of Alfred P. Doolittle. I have never seen a Seattle […]

I love the Drowsy Chaperone

Yesterday, The Stranger’s Slog had a great bit lamenting all the changes happening along the Pike/Pine corridor. In particular, they were discussing Pony going away (which I am very sad about, I only went a few times, but I loved it there!) But, my favorite part of the post was this great clip from one […]

Music and more

Gian and I went to see Tiger Lillies on Saturday. The music was macabre and darkly humorous. Their music reminded me a lot of Kurt Weill and Awesome.  Then on Sunday, Gian, Kyle, and I went to see Into the Woods at the 5th Avenue. It was such a brilliant staging; it really felt like […]

Spamalot

Gian and I saw Spamalot this weekend at the Paramount. It was hilarious and the cast was great! I especially liked Sir Robin and Lancelot. It made me think REALLY hard about subscribing to the Paramount this season… then I remembered that I don’t have $488 lying around.

Young Frankenstein & wallet

Gian and I went to see Young Frankenstein on Saturday. It was hilarious. Megan Mullally (from Will & Grace) and Roger Bart (from Desperate Housewives) were in it. My favorite characters were Frau Blucher and Igor. The songs were creative and well sung; the scenery and special effects were spectacular; and the show had an […]

Better sequel

This weekend, we watched Fay Grim, the follow up to Henry Fool. Fay Grim was brilliantly executed with witty dialogue and fast-moving, suspenseful scenes. I was glad we watched the first movie second, because while it answered some questions from Grim (and had a great coffee-induced, explosive poop scene that was hilarious). I would […]

Jazzy Gian

Last night, I got to hear Gian play in the Seattle Central Jazz Orchestra. It was incredible; the band was in full swing and sounded great. It was unfortunate that the location, Tula’s, was so terrible. First, the place was expensive for the low quality of food you received. Second, the service was horrible; I […]
